Mac Tool For Screenshots10/20/2021
Sadly there is no print screen button but a few handy key combinations that would do the job perfectly. Besides the snipping tool, there are screenshots keys in MacBook: no additional software is required to take screenshots.Once you’ve captured the perfect screenshot, Skitch will let you dress it up with a multitude of editing tools, including arrows, lines, shapes, highlights, callouts, and pixelation for obscuring personal information. On the surface it does a similar job but the usability is much worse.Adding text is infuriating because there is no editor box to allow changing font size/type - though I've heard there are some hidden hotkeys like scrollwheel for some of this but I haven't learned the secret language to make these hidden Lightshot features closer to useable. I tried to use these features for a while but now I have mostly given up and use it for the one task of selecting an area of the screen to save as an image and then open that saved image in a different image editor to do the markup. That's a shame because with some UX changes they could do it all in the one tool. Lightshot is an okay program that is 80% of the way there but that last 20% of missing user experience consideration is really noticeable. I hope they consider improving that someday.
